Are You An Old Crazy Community College Professor? Then You Too Can Write For ‘The Hill’

Hello, do you write incoherently and do you have a thinly veiled agenda? Then come on down to the Hill and write an Op-Ed, they apparently have very low standards and anyone is welcome! Like Dale Schlundt, an adjunct professor in Business Administration at at community college in Texas, who has written an incoherent article for us to enjoy. Bonus: he also may or may not have a farm where he breeds award-winning goats, if that’s something you are into. Anyway, when he is not (maybe) goat farming, he posts poorly written articles on the internet, like this one and also this other one, which highlight his ongoing challenges with subject-verb agreement. Anyway, today we will make fun of his most recent article, which attempts to explain why we need a “practical curriculum” in higher education. Romney to Student: He Will Give Her All The Jobs She Could Want

About a month ago, we informed you that someone had decided to do something about the one trillion dollar loan bubble (student, not mortgage), and by “do something” we meant “commission a report” with all kinds of recommendations that no one (except for maybe a couple bleeding heart liberals) did anything about. So here we are, still chugging along with a trillion dollars in student loan debt, hoping someone somewhere will eventually conclude that maybe this is a problem that should be addressed, and give us a hand by way of, say, revising existing bankruptcy law, or cracking down on predatory lending practices, or addressing the ever-rising costs of college education. Do we hope that this helpful person is Mitt Romney? No, we do not, because he has already essentially advised us that we could have avoided student loans if we had not gone out and gotten more education than we could afford. Even so, a junior at St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire — at least as of yesterday morning — was still laboring under the impression that Mitt Romney might want to do something about this huge enormous student loan bubble problem that may or may not crash the economy someday soon and asked Romney what he would do to help her, given that she had just taken out student loans of her own. The answer, of course, was: he is going to give her a great job! No really, he said that! Hooray? Read more on Romney to Student: He Will Give Her All The Jobs She Could Want…

Student Loan Bubble Reaches Around 1 Trillion, So What Who Cares

Oh LOOK someone has decided to do something about the gigantic loan bubble (student, not housing) in the form of commissioning a report from the Consumer Protection Bureau, and YAY Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill) has gone ahead and followed the recommendations of the report, introducing not one, but TWO bills on private student loans! TWO! And one of them would even reverse the bankruptcy discharge law! Does the system finally work? Does it? Of course it doesn’t, this is America, and so both of these bills are “going nowhere!”  USA! USA! Read more on Student Loan Bubble Reaches Around 1 Trillion, So What Who Cares…

Ohio Gov Appoints Lying Jock With No College Degree To Board Of Ed, For ‘Diversification’

If you were a governor, would you ever appoint someone to a state board, just because of his or her race? Of course not, that would be racism, even if that person’s race has been historically underrepresented on that board, and the board’s mission involves tackling persistent racial inequalities! That’s why Ohio Governor John Kasich wants to make it absolutely clear that when he says “On any board you want some diversification” in regards to his appointment of an ex-Ohio State quarterback to the state’s Board of Education, he is not referring to the fact that the dude is black, but rather to his background. His background involves not graduating from college, and not submitting an application for the job, and completely making up the supposed charter school that he claims to have founded. Also he lives in the country and maybe he’s kind of Jesus-y? Read more on Ohio Gov Appoints Lying Jock With No College Degree To Board Of Ed, For ‘Diversification’…

Mitt Romney Will Turn All The Nation’s Schools Into Louisiana And It Will Be So Great

Everyone can relax now because I am back from my vacation and here to shed light on all the horrible things that are in store for, or currently happening to, the Best Country On Earth.™ And as it turns out, there are several, which at this point should come to a surprise to exactly no one. For example, did you know about Mitt Romney’s plan to destroy public education, which he revealed a couple weeks ago in a White Paper that no one paid much attention to? This is an actual White Paper, by the way, not an offhand comment like the one he made about how much he likes firing people who provide teaching to you. You will be shocked, just shocked, to learn that the “ideas” in this 35-page-long White Paper are about the same as the ones that John Sununu said on TeeVee, and can be succinctly summarized as follows. Privatize K-12 education to give people Choices and whatnot. Loosen regulations on for-profit college education to stimulate Competition and the subsequent lowering of prices. Destroy Teachers’ Unions because they are Communist, basically. Read more on Mitt Romney Will Turn All The Nation’s Schools Into Louisiana And It Will Be So Great…

Obama Administration Has Devious Plan To Socialize Education Probably

Speaking of public education and third world countries, guess where YOUR tax dollars are going?
