Local media insider blog FishbowlDC for the past few weeks has been holding its annual “Hottest Media Types” competition and yesterday, after 512 nominations, intense voting, you name it, they announced the winners. And WOW, we knew the Washington press crowd wasn’t exactly a model shoot, but… seriously? Has it always been this bad? For what it’s worth, we think it’s a crime that a certain someone didn’t make the cut. He’s a known slut, and he happens to be the editor of FishbowlDC itself: Patrick Gavin, seen here mocking poor old Henry Kissinger in a Wonkette archive photo. Gavin is always drunk and unprofessional and we have more photographic proof of this that we’ve been using as blackmail for months. Well, he stopped paying us a week ago, so here goes. MORE »

Michael Grass of the Washington Post’s EXPRESS celebrates the launching of “Yeas and Nays” in the Washington Examiner.

Last night, we went to the WASPiest place we’ve ever been in our entire lives (the University Club) to celebrate the launch of the Washington Examiner’s gossip column, “Yeas and Nays.” It launched a month ago, yes, but we’re still quite excited.

The club was bumpin’, the wine was free, and the bloggers were in a corner talking only to each other. Our kinda shindig. After the jump, a few photos from a certain Girl Reporter who was actually supposed to be shooting for the Examiner.

The National Journal Group throws a mean party, so when they invited us to celebrate their blessed gay marriage to MSNBC (oh, we only give it ’til November — you know how those types are), we put on a tie and everything and cabbed it to the Watergate. The cabbie correctly pegged us as a “blogger,” picked up two well-dressed Republican-looking additional fares at a Georgetown hotel, and told them we were “a liberal Democratic tree-lover vegetarian” as they uncomfortably and politely laughed and silently pleaded to make it to Sequoia before we said something leftist.

As we mentioned earlier, last night Team Wonkette found itself at the book party for Peter Beinart’s The Good Fight. The festivities took place at the elegant Georgetown home of Mark Penn and Nancy Jacobson, and numerous superstars attended — including Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Last night, Team Wonkette attended the book party for The Good Fight, the new book by Peter Beinart. On a perfect June evening, in the garden of Mark Penn and Nancy Jacobson’s Georgetown mansion, we rubbed shoulders with numerous luminaries — including Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Yes, of course she wore a pantsuit. This one was pea green.

Attention Patrick Healy: A tuxedo-clad Bill arrived separately from Hillary. Hillary left the premises at least 20 minutes prior to Bill’s arrival.
