We continue to celebrate our last day by presenting scenes from yet another party that we neglected to attend. This one was the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts’ Eleventh Annual Noche de Gala Dinner, held last week at the Mayflower’s Grand Ballroom. Honored guests included, Jimmy Smits, Kenny Ortega, Ed Markey, and FCC commisioner Robert McDowell. And our own Liz Glover and Liz Gorman, who documented the whole affair for your enjoyment. When GQ put out their list of the most powerful people in Washington, we all had a good laugh at how dumb some of their choices were. Then because we are whores we accepted their invite to a party at Cafe Milano last Monday night (never forget!). Liz Gorman came too, she took pictures. We just drank. Last Thursday, we walked over to Bourbon to hear, we thought, some dude from Vice talk to some dude from al-Jazeera English about… well, something? It was The Modernist Society’s first monthly party at one of 18th St. last remaining tolerable bars (if you’re upstairs, anyway), and we were there because it was within walking distance.
