Terrible Old White Women Worship Their She-Devil

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

How much fun was had in Washington on Saturday? This much. Two more horrific examples of why John McCain will be president, after the jump. MORE »

Sam Donaldson Is Hilarious

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Do you know what we miss? We miss Sam Donaldson yelling questions at Ronald Reagan, and telling weird stories, and doing his “webcast” at the Republican and Democratic presidential conventions in 2000. Here, our own Liz Glover asks Sam to tell some stories, and good lord, does he oblige. This was at the Michael Kelly Awards over at the Atlantic Monthly’s office on Thursday night. (Yes we know Donaldson is on ABC’s This Week but we never wake up in time for that, due to booze.)

Stephen Colbert At National Portrait Gallery: Well Hung?

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Our Liz Glover dropped by the National Portrait Gallery to ask bitter voters about Stephen Colbert’s dignified triple portrait, which enjoyed a limited engagement hanging in the restroom foyer, over the water fountain. The answers may repulse you! (Thanks to Dawne Langford for the camera work.)

Wonkette Bothers John Kerry, For The Kids!

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Wonkette’s own Liz Glover took her video camera and Polaroid to an April 1 party for “Our America,” a thing to help the low-income youth. As you can imagine, the powerful D.C. media wanted nothing to do with this (poor black kids are such downers), but John Kerry was there! MORE »

LETTERS FROM A NUT: Regarding the March 5 Reliable Source item “A Warped Lens on D.C. Party Scene”: The caption above the photographs of Reed Landry and Liz Glover stated that, according to Glover, Landry “went postal” on her camera. I was shocked, appalled and dismayed to read this term in your newspaper. “Going postal” carries a hideous and degrading connotation regarding the …. [Washington Post]

LIZ GLOVER-LNS CAMERA SCANDAL LIVES ON! Today’s Reliable Source D.C. gossip chat at WashingtonPost.com is loaded with more talk about that Late Night Shots cretin breaking our LIz Glover’s camera. What next, a major motion picture? [Washington Post]

Wonkette Party Crash Gets Its Camera Crushed, By Late Night Shots Founder

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Gentlemen don’t knock the cameras from the hands of Wonkette’s Liz Glover, but this is not a story about gentlemen. It’s a story about Late Night Shots, and its founder, Reed Landry. LNS is, of course, the closed social website network for binge-drinking Georgetown douchebags chased away to D.C. by their wealthy, exasperated parents, Anyway, our own Liz Glover attended a pleasant soirée a whole month ago, and everyone was enjoying the witty banter and decent champagne when … well, watch the Cinéma Vérité video and read Glover’s report and hear her tragic cries for help, after the jump. Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon Joins Obama Youth

Friday, February 8th, 2008

But what do noise/punk/grunge pioneers Sonic Youth think of the 2008 Democratic race? Kim Gordon is “inspired” by Barack Obama, that’s what! She will support him, she tells Wonkette’s Liz Glover … even though Gordon admits Obama and Hillary are basically the same, as far as politics. This is what passes for “Fashion Week” these days. And here’s another funny thing: If Barry Obama becomes president, we’ll have a president eight years younger than Sonic Youth’s bassist. Think about it.

When Animals Attack DC Fundraisers

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Wonkette’s Liz Glover took her various Video and Polaroid cameras to the “Sugar & Champagne” fundraiser for the Washington Humane Society. And what exactly happens when animals attack people in a sugar/champagne frenzy? Watch the video to find out! [Sugar & Champagne Affair]

Cap File’s White Party

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Wonkette Roving Videographer Liz Glover keeps going to weird parties full of weird people and then sending us video from them. This is Capitol File’s “White Party” (AREN’T THEY ALL HA HA HA), a benefit for Corcoran. MORE »

Wonkette Party Crash: ‘The Week’ Magazine Opinion Awards ‘07

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

This is a very special party crash, because we actually did crash it: despite being on the panel that selected one of the winners, we weren’t actually on the list for The Week’s annual award dog-and-pony show. It all worked out in the end, of course, as we’re consummate complainers.

The event, held last night at the Four Seasons, honors people whose opinions a group of rich old people can generally agree are pretty good, or at least entertaining. Oh, and a blogger.

We attended, of course, with the lovely Liz Gorman, whose lovely photos are here. Our write-up can be found, as always, after the jump.

Wonkette Party Crash: Radicals for Capitalism Book Party

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

There was a party Friday night for Reason magazine Senior Editor Brian Doherty’s new book Radicals for Capitalism: A Freewheeling History of the Modern American Libertarian Movement. The over-partied duo of Liz Gorman and Intern Nick were given strict instructions to play nice with the Libertarians, while doing reconnaissance on the hot new Reason offices near Dupont Circle.

Your photo gallery is right here and your party report, featuring Nick’s wide-eyed fascination with and slight fear of libertarians, is after the jump.

Wonkette Party Crash: Hotline Says Good-bye To Chuck Todd

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Buh-bye! - WonketteHotline and National Journal threw a good-bye party for ex-Hotline EIC Chuck Todd last night and we crashed the party. Chuck’s got another baby on the way — and insider political magazines don’t provide a whole lot of Pampers. So he’s trading in all those years of integrity for a few nice suits and Brian Williams’ orange tan.

Follow Liz Gorman, Girl Reporter, and Intern Nick as their shoulders soak up the tears of the many scorned “acolytes” of Chuck “Show Me the Money” Todd, after the jump. And yes, there’s a photo gallery, too!
