Yesterday the National Republican Congressional Committee thought that the most productive thing to do that afternoon would be to compare Nancy Pelosi to Hitler, on Twitter. A savvy web intern found some video of Adolf Hitler planning to kill Jews, only he’s speaking in German (!), so what would be great would be if we could just throw up some subtitles that suggest that the kind of genocide Hitler thinks is even cooler is the kind when Barack Obama just FOR NO REASON decides to shut down America’s hospitals. Which by the way are in Berlin, according to the Democrat/Nazi’s map. In any event, like nearly everything else that happens on Twitter, it was later forcibly removed. [CNN Political Ticker]

• SHUT UP AND MAKE THE GENERAL A GODDAMN PIE: Republicans tend to hate it when ladies have jobs. They should be at home, pooping out babies, because of the Bible. Now they have another ad supporting some GOP dude running in Louisiana, whose opponent supports the “extreme liberal views” of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi, depicted below with a lesbian haircut. We’re being too tough on Michael Steele. It’s not a big deal that he’s ashamed to run as a Republican. Hey, even Congressman Tom Reynolds (R-NY) is ashamed to run as a Republican this year. Who’s Tom Reynolds? Oh, the chairman of the NRCC, committee that elects Republicans to Congress. His new ad “Fighting for Jobs” glosses completely over the fact that he’s a member of the GOP, as does the information on his website.

“New Yorkers won’t be fooled by a new TV spot after years of job losses and Reynolds’s record against working families,” said Bill Burton, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s communications director. “It’s time for a new direction.”

It feels… dirty to agree with a DCCC flack. But check out that ad. Not only does Reynolds edit out images of his GOP pledge pin - the message is all about how New York is “not conducive to creating jobs.” Who’s the governor of New York? Republican George Pataki. Who runs the New York state Senate? Republican Joe Bruno. Who runs the country? A Republican president and Congress. Damn it, it’s time to stand up and stop the Democrats from ruining everything! When we last checked in on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s ad, it was to note that, “The DCCC is so committed to the environment they’re recycling stock photos and a Bill Clinton quote for America’s ‘new direction.’” Since then, the National Republican Congressional Committee has branded the unmemorable piece of filmmaking “despicable” and is spamming inboxes around the country with daily updated lists of Dems who have and have not “repudiated DCCC fundraising ad that dishonored fallen heroes.” MORE »
