Hubba hubbaThe New York Times Magazine always gets the fanciest cover stories, and then people talk about them forever, whether the subject be Chris Matthews or that in-house reporter nut who can’t pay his mortgage. And last Sunday’s profiled Conan O’Brien! (PSST GOOD LUCK ON MONDAY CONAN.) This week’s covers Bill Clinton, the former president who now cures AIDS. A number of anecdotes merit the ol’ Wonkette Blockquote — one comical bit involves the president planting trees, alone, in sadness — but we’ll run with the part about how Clinton’s best friends are Christopher Ruddy, the vicious wingnut founder of Newsmax, and Richard Mellon Scaife, who spent the ’90s actively working to destroy the Clinton Presidency from a gargoyle chamber in Pittsburgh. Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

The esteemed, venerable and important New York Times Sunday Magazine this week spends TEN WHOLE INTERNET PAGES speaking from the side of its jaw about this black feller, Obaramasama, and how none of the “real” whites like him really at all. Oh bollocks, just make a glass of gin with scotch and read this million-word article by the reliable Matt Bai about a subject every magazine has written about fourteen thousand times already. Obama talks about Bittergate and some other stuff. [NYT Mag]

I had no idea.” Ha ha, weird! She is terribly awkward, which made this Sunday’s interview with Florida’s secretly gay Governor Charlie Crist such a profound occasion. MORE »

MIKE HUCKABEE

I Only <3 Fat Huckabee

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

huckfat.jpgObviously the best part of today’s much poo-pooed New York Times Magazine profile of Mike Huckabee was this little before and after picture. Specifically, the before part. But if these adorable fat pictures are the only reasons to like teh Huckbeez, his suggestion for secretary of Defense is the latest in a million reasons to fear him. MORE »
