TUCKER CARLSON

Two Names That I Can Hardly Stand to Hear

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Did you hear? It is my last day as your Wonkette editor! On Monday, I’ll sit down at the same goddamn computer and log into the same goddamn screwy blogging engine to continue to write for the same goddamn English billionaire Tory, but it will be for a site called “Gawker.com” instead. So to celebrate, I’m just gonna tell two brief stories of nutty DC types who helped make this gig miserable, in a “funny” way. Join me in saluting Karen Feld and Tucker Carlson!

Wonkette Party Crash: Michael Musto’s Book Party

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

Events like last night’s pretend book thing for Michael Musto’s La Dolce Musto are exactly the reason we keep party-boy Intern Nick on retainer. Because sometimes, some parties demand Wonkette treatment, but your editor doesn’t actually want to hang out with Jeff Gannon, Karen Feld, and Some Creepy Blogger.

He didn’t go alone, of course — Liz Gorman, Girl Reporter tagged along for the ride and vowed never to forgive us for skipping it. Her gallery of pictures is available right here, and Nick’s party report, with lengthy addendum, is after the jump.

Christmas Cards From the Rich and Famous-For-DC

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

Beloved DC gossip and friend-of-Wonkette Karen Feld celebrates the holidays with a terrifying HiĆ«ronymus Bosch hellscape of sentient toy dogs building an idol of their dead companion for the purposes of some sort of pagan solstice ritual. MORE »

Wonkette Party Crash: Cap File’s First Anniversary

Monday, December 4th, 2006

Last Thursday, we went to the National Portrait Gallery for the very first time. Not out of any deep underlying love of art or interest in American history, but for free booze and questionable celebrities. Yes, it’s a Capital File party! Specifically, the Cap File First Anniversary Party, starring, for some reason, Iman!

We brought along our girl Friday, Liz Gorman, whose fantastic (as always) pictures are all available in this fancy new gallery thing right here.

After the jump, our half-remembered party report.

We Get Letters: Karen Feld Edition

Monday, November 20th, 2006

Karen Feld, Most Likely to Succeed - WonketteFormer Examiner gossip and queen-of-all-media Karen Feld has a small bone to pick with Wonkette. So she sat right down and wrote a letter to our bosses. It’s reprinted in its entirety after the jump, but here’s the gist:

What documentation does he have that I suffer from dementia?
And that I am a dog abuser?

Pareene gets a stern, rambling talking-to, after the jump.

Weirder Still, the Dog Was Listed As Being With the ‘Times’

Friday, November 10th, 2006

The IFE (Institute for Fiduciary Education), like every single other organization in this town, throws an awards dinner every year. We got our hands on the guest list of this year’s gala, and in with your typical media types, corporate types, government types, and embassy types, one name stood out:
feldguestlist.jpg
That would be poor, kicked-to-the-curb gossip-ish columnist Karen Feld, formerly of the Examiner, currently of no one in particular. And certainly not the Post. Harmless error? Possibly. But we suspect she’s pulling a Julia Baugher.
Update: Karen Feld responds!

Gossip Roundup: Campari and Biscotti

Monday, July 3rd, 2006
  • Heard on the Hill: William Jefferson’s at-bat at the Congressional baseball game was greeted with chants of “cold hard cash” … Nancy Pelosi “wouldn’t recommend” that members of Congress appear on The Colbert Report. [Roll Call]
  • Reliable Sources: Karen Feld is unemployed… Jenna Bush’s students were “only vaguely aware” that their Spanish teacher was a First Daughter. [WP]
  • Cindy Adams: The spirit of The United States “endures always.” [NYP]

KAREN FELD

Porn and News Pair Producing Nothing

Monday, October 3rd, 2005

Feld And Her BitchFishbowl DC draws our attention to Karen Feld’s admission that she was incorrect in “romantically linking” CNN producer Kathy Benz to porn producer Mark Kulkis. Most interesting is her excuse for getting it wrong:

We now believe we were the target of an Internet “spoofer” who used an email address that appeared to come from another news organization.

Though we suspect that Feld was hoodwinked by a fake email address (crafty!), the term “spoofer” usually applies ISP attacks, which suggests that Feld was deluged with gossip about Benz and Kulkis (hey, we remember July, too!). Benz is now suing the Examiner.

The Buzz - Now, the other nomination [DCX, fourth item via FDC]

UPDATE after the jump.
