Nobody Went To Obama’s Responsibility Orgy
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009
So sad! President Obama invited over a bunch of congressmen and senators to talk about being fiscally responsible, and some of them showed up, but a lot of them didn’t. Even some breakout session panelists and moderators failed to appear because who knows, maybe they had something better to do than fix the economy??? MORE »

Larry Summers, one of Barack Obama’s chief money trolls, made a splash at yesterday’s “fiscal responsibility summit” by falling asleep, publicly, in front of everyone. Maybe he was drunk? Or tired, from pulling so many all-nighters in light of the recent and complete collapse of the world economy? Or: the thermostat was too high, which is always a killer in crowded conference rooms. At any rate, we’ll know who to blame when the Dow plunges another 700 points and the US Treasury goes bankrupt. [
Judd Gregg, a Republican senator from New Hampshire who was going to be Barack Obama’s secretary of commerce before he remembered that had already mortgaged his balls to Mitch McConnell, has fallen prey to another one of the president’s dastardly bipartisan schemes. He has accepted an invitation to attend some sort of “fiscal responsibility summit” next week. Oh noes!
