Sarah Palin Not Invited To Sexy McCain Dinner

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Super weird thing happening on Monday night: sexy simultaneous dinner parties for Joe Biden, Colin Powell and WALNUTS! himself, Sen. John Sidney McCain MCMLXLVIII! Huh? Barack Obama will stop at each one for a few seconds, offer his love for these demons, and escape just before the cutting of the cake. His appearance at the McCain dinner will be longer than that of, say, Sarah Palin, who was not invited, because she’s a woman. MORE »

Wonkette Party Crash: CEI Awards, Part Two

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

IMG_8623.JPGAs we previously mentioned, last night Team Wonkette attended the annual CEI Dinner. We’ve already given you some great photos from the event. Now we provide you with this more detailed write-up of the proceedings, as promised.

All in all, it was an excellent evening. P.J. O’Rourke was in funny, fine form. The liquor flowed liberally, and the after-party featured free cigars and cigarettes (plus scrumptious chocolate eclairs).

Our full take on the evening, including more excellent pictures by Liz Gorman, appears after the jump.

Team Party Crash: National Press Foundation Awards Dinner

Last night found Wonkette dressed to kill at the Hilton Washington Hotel for the 23rd-annual National Press Foundation awards dinner, where we mingled with the ink-stained wretches (and their TV peers, who looked a bit more comfortable in formal wear) and pretended to be real-life journalists. For a recap of the night’s big name guests, speeches, and awardees, you’ll probably want to go here or here. For a bunch of pictures of journalists looking awkward, you’ve come to the right place! We snuck in Wonkette photographer Liz Gorman (without telling our host or getting her a ticket, natch) to capture Washington’s best, brightest, and most adept at scoring free dinners in their unnatural habitat. Full gallery and heavily embellished recollections after the jump!
