“The nation’s first family tree is about to gain a new branch,” the Washington Post reveals today. “The future in-laws, it turns out, are not unlike the Bushes.”
Really?! That is news. While many Americans expected Jenna Bush to eventually shack up with a meth dealer in a Florida trailer park, it turns out her “background” and “pedigree” sort of determined long ago that she would marry another rich white douche from another rich and powerful family that makes billions of dollars on something that kills poor brown people — in Jenna’s case, that industry is oil and war, while in Henry Hager’s case, that industry is tobacco. Our worst enemy of the moment is, apparently, the Evil Nation of Iran.* But the business of America is business and Mitt Romney is a gazillionaire businessman, so of course he’s been doing business in Iran forever. But to run for president these days, you need to act like you’re very concerned about the great enemy that is Iran. Romney went so far as to demand state pension funds divest from any companies doing any work in Iran. 
To be president, as we learned in high school civics classes, you must be tall and rich. But to run for president, you must only be wealthy — which explains, say, the candidacies of Tom Tancredo and Dennis Kucinich. 
Despite the great process the U.S. and U.K. have made in transforming Iraq into a blood-soaked Boschian hellscape of endless horror, the former country still isn’t quite safe enough for a major political stunt such as sending an heir to the British Throne there for photo ops.
