‘Car And Driver’ Editor Has Tart Words For Obama Regarding Tire Maths

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Here is a video of an adorable car nerd explaining why properly inflating your tires probably won’t save America. It has to do with math and numbers, YAWN! You see, we mustn’t assume that every single tire in the U.S. is horribly underinflated. However, it is apparently fine to assume that we have some sort of nationalized oil industry that will magically keep all 600,000 barrels of ANWR-produced oil within American confines, instead of selling it on the world market. Silly car hobo! [YouTube]

Bush Seeks to Cut Gas

Monday, September 26th, 2005

In remarks this morning, the President asked Americans to “pitch in” with the gas crisis brought on by Katrina by “maybe not drive when they — on a trip that’s not essential, that would helpful,” and noting “We can curtail nonessential travel.” Next thing you know he’ll be having us put on sweaters and turn the thermostat down! The ’70s flashback continued with Bush pleading, “We can encourage employees to carpool or use mass transit…There’s ways for the federal government to lead when it comes to conservation.” Lead by example, sure! The President himself takes a dozen journalists at a time with him on his absolutely essential trips to monitor progress in the Gulf.

Full remarks after the jump.
