George Archibald, former Washington Times man, has a lengthy and entertaining behind-the-scenes look at the recent ouster at that venerable paper of Washington Times Corp. Vice President Jonathan Slevin. From there, Archibald goes into a rich history of smoking weed with Fran Coombs, Moonies vs. unreconstructed confederates, and, because this is the Times, perverts:
There’s also an unfolding scandal involving a chief photo department editor who apparently has an eye for young women photographers and, according to filed complaints, made sexual overtures to photographers as they applied and sought employment at The Washington Times.
Working at the Times must be pretty much a nonstop party.

An hetero harassment scandal? In D.C.? Harks back to the halcyon days of Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas.
It's been a long time.
The real scandal is not knowing whether the WT gets a slew of hot female photogs applying in the first place. They prolly crawl over from LNS.
And Archibald is a total tool; is it necessary to tell your readers MORE THAN ONCE about how many years of service you put in "on the beat" at WT?
Archibald doesn't strike me as a particular good writer. Notice how many times he referred to some aspect of the paper as "fiesty." I am left with the impression that everyone at the Times who is not a sour old homophobic racist in a white sheet is a Mary Lou Retton clone.
Of course, I don't read that Moonie rag anyway. I feel unclean just browsing through it, and I'm a Republican.
Wow, thanks for posting this. That was way more than I wanted to know.
How much of this is a general conservative/liberal thing, and how much of it is the WT's peculiar psychoses? What I'm tempted to draw from this post is that the media are liberal because conservatives are too busy drinking, abusing power and practicing lack of news judgment to survive without massive subsidization. Is Faux News profitable?
Anyway, too bad for the Moon subsidies, otherwise the process would be Darwinian.
