What a creative defense... seems like the confessing to being at the store and to "committing fraudulent returns" (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/13/AR2006031301677.html) might get in the way of the "my evil twin" did it defense. As if stealing $2.50 items while on a 6 figure federal salary wasn't pathetic enough!

I actually knew Claude (not terribly well, but I knew him) at the University of North Carolina; we were there at the same time. As a college kid, the guy was whip-smart and extremely nice.
This whole story is really quite bizarre... I just can't imagine him doing something like this, though it seems like an open-and-shut case that he actually did. If things are as they appear, I really hope he gets some help.

So, we really do all look alike? I thought that was just something you crazy white people made up. But seriously, does anyone know if his brother even lives in Maryland, let alone in Montgomery Co? I doubt it.
