Right now in Austin, millions are celebrating the announcement of the 2007 Bloggie Award Winners. And guess who won the Best Political Weblog? That’s right, your beloved Wonkette!
As we predicted, fans of conservative and liberal blogs totally canceled each other out, leaving Wonkette with the honorable honor.
Thanks everybody for voting for us, U R KOOL!! Sadly, there are no prizes this year.

OK. Great. Now where's my IPOD?
Congrats!
Excellent! Now my friends might actually know what this blog is.
Cheers! - I want an official T-shirt..
i feel a little bloggie.
Uuh. I don't think Wonkette won anything for it's comments section. Don't get all uppity.
In fact, this section could probably use some cleaning, judging by the amount of OMG BUSHSUCKSZORZ LOL lately.
Congratulations. Now go the fuck home.
--Sincerely, an Austinite who's already tired of wading through hipsters (and it's only Monday)
Sadly, there are no prizes this year.
No official prizes maybe, but you guys are gonna get laid like you're living in a TAG body-spray commercial.
@OnoSideboard: You think we'd voluntarily go to Texas?
@David Flores: See above; we're nowhere around Austin ... plus, surely nobody has even gotten laid because of a weblog award ......
Kudos to you, Wonkette. Well-deserved. The other nominees are boring snoring.
And no one deserves this meaningful prize more than the blog that [assured its readers that the crazy shit that some no-name website was posting about the Florida Congressman could in no way possibly be true] broke the Mark Foley story.
Just kidding, 'Kette, you know we love you. Without you, our days would be miserable and productive.
Wasn't Wonkette's chief competition in the category "Ubergizmo"?
@Ken Layne:
I'm just saying, Ken, that this might not be a bad time to put on your "I write for Wonkette" t-shirt and head on down to your closest college field-hockey game and "accidentally wander on to the field" (or a high-school game, if you live your life on the edge).
What a special little treat for those of us who have a case of the Mondays! A nice little mutual masturbation break, and then we can all go back to hatin'.
dont let it go to your head, you'll have to give back the title when donald trump finds out about your promiscuity and drug use.
@David Flores: I forgot all about that sport! Good to see they still wear the little plaid skirts.
I came for the humorous political commentary.
I stay for the exciting Brazilian protest porn.
This award is just confirmation that we prefer our blogs to be like our candidates . . . . . WALNUTS!
Fess up. You got to Kitty and had her stuff the ballot box. Reportedly, she's good at that sort of thing.
Congrats, Wonketeers! Whoever is worried about the state of political commentary in this country should come here and have a read. And then take a shower.
Wait, you cover politics?
@kungpao: Shhhhh!
@David Flores: But what's the expected milage for my "I comment for Wonkette" t-shirt? Say it's at least a USFB!
I thought Wonkette was a weblog about transvestites, homosexuals, baby-bearing lesbians; sneering, deluded, megalomaniacal, hypocritically god-fearing and god-loving residents of Washington D.C.; expensively begowned, bejeweled, and ultra-expensively beslippered vacuous, pedophile-protecting putzes; bribe-taking thieves who toss shrink-wrapped bundles of US currency at their friends, foreign and domestic; do-nothing agents, wastrels who draw large salaries and munificent benefits for one- and two-day 'work weeks', while piously protesting 'We do it all for you', as if they were hyping hamburgers.
In other words, I thought Wonkette was about Republicans and Religion.
But POLITICS!?
Ok, where is the party? If in NYC, I propose Bungalow 8; I can bring a couple of Brazilian friends.
Hey was that image photoshopped??
Congrats.
Party!
Congratulations! Well deserved I think.
It is journalism's proudest moment. This clearly means America is "back on track." Also, I made this helpful instructional graphic so nobody could fuck...
