Those “in the know” have been aware for some time that Al Gore invented the “global warming” myth purely to sell his stupid movie and win awards and fuck movie stars. But now one website dares to tell the real “inconvenient truth:” Al Gore didn’t merely make up global warming, he is also causing it!
Their evidence? A bunch of links to global warming debunking sites that don’t mention Al Gore, a link to an NPR story about his movie, and a link to this classic DRUDGE EXPOSE:
The message is serious. So serious in fact, the DRUDGE REPORT has calculated that Vice President Al Gore is burning more than 439,500 pounds of fuel, or 65,600 gallons, at a cost of more than $131,000 on his 16,000 mile daytrip, just to deliver the warning.
So there you have it, the evidence is unimpeachable: Global warming is a myth, or the result of natural ciclical weather patterns, and it’s exaggerated, and the Earth is actually cooling, and also it’s all Al Gore’s fault, and when we’re all having a leisurely canoe trip down a flooded K street strumming our ukuleles and crooning tin pan ally standards to our sweethearts as the city drowns, that will be Al Gore’s fault.

Are you sure The Onion writers didn't hack into Drudge's page and post this stuff? No, if The Onion folks were involved, the text would have been better written and it'd have been more interesting.
Does self-loathing drive people completely insane, or is there any other explanation for Matt Drudge, et al.?

Here's my question: Do the manipulators (the Drudges, the Roves, the Coulters) actually believe the stupid stuff they spout?
I remain curious as to why conservatives want to discredit global warming - is Big Oil just driving around town handing out bags of money to anyone who is willing to make up shit?
I mean, c'mon capitalists, invest in carbon scrubbers, new technologies, Telefunken U-47 powered cars, whatever - you guys are good at finding a way to make money off government restrictions. Don't be to our atmosphere what lobbyists for Big Tobacco were to our parent's and grandparent's lungs.
I was the 301st hit on the site. At this rate, they'll get their message out by the time humans are long extinct, the earth has cooled and George Clinton, that funky space alien, visits the Orion nebula on the mothership.
This is right up there with Ben Bridges's favorite group, the Fair Education Foundation. I love some of the "science" that's out there these days!
Drudge is something you get between your toes if you never take your socks off...ever...never ever.
If the Reagan folks were right about bovine flatulence being a leading cause of climate change I guess ol' Drudge better check himself out before casting the first (or any) stone.

That Drudge report was from 1997. Had Gore even invented the internets by then? And how does he feel about his invention being used against him? Kinda like a Japanese nuclear scientist, maybe?
