The word from the Bloomberg employees NOT invited to WHCD but allowed into the afterparty is that they’re being encouraged this year to show up at 9PM or 9:30, rather than 11, to “avoid the crush.” For this correspondent, it means merely that I will be joined in bed by a tipsy spouse at 2AM this year, rather than 4. They don’t deign to allow spouses through the door at all anymore.

“Avoid the crush”! That’s a good one. So much better than “We’d like you to leave before the really famous people get here.”
