Hola, everyone, we just attended a panel at the Equality Forum, a super-gay thing running concomitantly with the Democratic National Convention in Philly. This afternoon was the "Politics Panel," moderated by Dem strategist Richard Socarides. Panelists included Greg Angelo, president of the Log Cabin Republicans; Gautam Raghavan, current VP of public policy at the Gill Foundation, but who was Obama's liaison to the LGBT community from 2011 to 2014; Mira Patel, who formerly worked on Hillary's policy planning staff at the State Department (more on her in the next post!); and U.S. Congressman Jared Polis of Colorado, who is openly gay and a dad and just an all around nice guy.
After the panel (where we asked good questions like a real journalist!) we begged J-Po for a picture, and the following conversation happened, probably slightly paraphrased because we are senile and have no short-term memory anymore:
JARED: You're Wonkette?
ME: Well, I'm not THE Wonkette, that's Rebecca. But I'm the senior editor!
JARED: You're famous! It's good to see you!
BLAH BLAH BLAH, we don't know what else, but anyway, it is true that we are famous, the end.
I just wish they'd allow comments so we could properly chastise them for it. ;)
I wondered about that as well and decided to let it be. (leave it be?)
and MSNBC was right across the street from the bar so that's why it's neat to watch them on the TeeVee's.
