Ronan Farrow, Glenn Beck Both Support Bullied 9-Year-Old Brony; Can Middle East Peace Be Far Behind?
Liberal lovegod Ronan Farrow and weird political freakshow Glenn Beck don't agree on much of anything, but here's a Kumbayah, We Are The World moment for you: both say bullying a 9-year-old boy who likes My Little Pony is bad, and if boys want to like a cartoon "for girls," that's actually just fine, thanks.
By now you may have already heard about Grayson Bruce, the 9-year-old in Asheville, North Carolina, who was bullied at school for carrying a lunchbox with My Little Pony character Rainbow Dash on it -- we know you've heard about him, because you keep sending the story to the tipline. The school administration's brilliant response was to tell the bullied kid to leave the lunchbox at home, since it was creating a "distraction." And then the Internet got ahold of the story, and within the last week it's all over the place; a "Support for Grayson" Facebook page is getting all sorts of traffic (including tweeted messages of support from the current show's creator, Lauren Faust, and from head writer Meghan McCarthy ), and suddenly both Ronan Farrow and Glenn Beck have run stories featuring Grayson, his mom, and his troublemaking Rainbow Dash lunchbox. We shall watch those.

Takeaway: Conservatives pretty much only see the world as gradients of fear.
You should fear stepping out of line! Why? BECAUSE WE SAY SO. They sure love a God that smites those that don't follow the rules. They love to point at natural disasters and say "God did this because you people didn't obey." They love power, being able to enforce one's wishes over another. They love the gun and the Military, because both are all about projecting power, without needing to earn respect through other means, like, say, being like-able. They have such problems with women, who by physical attributes alone, are "to be dominated" as "nature intended." They can't stop themselves from talking about rape, which is all about power and so very little about sex. They love their sports mostly for its domination over others. They don't value respect and influence earned by talent as highly as they value it when it is instilled through fear of power. Look at how they all moistened their panties over Putin, and decry Obama's diplomacy. They love wealth because you get such power with it. And of course, the Conservative party works to make sure the wealthy stay powerful. They see compromise and consensus as weakness, though they love the power that comes from being The Majority. Conservatives gravitate towards racism because of the power that comes from being in the majority, and love to maintain that imbalance. They decry education as elitist, mostly because it empowers people, and works to erase the de facto "inferiority" of the minority.
Their minds don't think "Bully Kid shouldn't be beating people up for any reason" but instead "Bully Kid beat you up, because you have a Pony Lunchbox." In their minds, it's basically "natural" that a bully should get to beat on you, because at the very least, you didn't do as he said: "you better look (or act) like US." So get rid of the Pony Lunchbox, duh! Do what he says!
(Is it any wonder they all have Hitler on the brain, all the time?)
Exactly what "healthy behavior" is being encouraged by making fun of someone who likes something you don't, or looks different or comes from a different place, like Newark ? Just stop liking stuff or being short or moving here from Newark. Yup. Society feels more stable already.
