Why does Rick Santorum keep getting asked on the yap shows? He does not hold an elected office, has not held an elected office since 2007, and does not have anything remotely redeeming to say about much of anything, and yet, he is still treated as though he is Important and Serious and worth listening to. Like in this video clip, which begins with Jennifer Granholm asking Rick Santorum to defend the use of a gun magazine that can tear a "six year old to shreds," and he is VERY HAPPY TO DO SO!
See, we can have a gun magazine capable of shredding six-year-olds because fifty years ago you could order a gun from a catalogue with no restrictions on gun ownership, and we had a lot less violence back then, and also, because of Hollywood and video games!
(By the way, would you be shocked to learn that this is not exactly true, and that the Gun Control Act of 1968 put an end to mail-order gun sales and restricted ownership of handguns and rifles? No, you would probably not be shocked to learn that this is not exactly true, since very little of what Rick Santorum says seems to be exactly true.)
Also, could you shred a six year old with the guns you ordered from these catalogues? Not sure, Rick Santorum doesn't say, but he DOES say that we should be "blaming society" and not guns, because gun violence was lower back when you could freely order weapons from catalogues and society was less violent. And dammit, what about Hollywood, and the fact that they put these films before us that glorify violence?
But Jennifer Granholm is unconcerned with what Rick Santorum wants to talk about, and asks him to justify the sale of armor-piercing bullets now that he has happily defended the unrestricted sales of guns and gun magazines that tear six-year-olds to shreds. We need those, he believes, because they are "available to us," and criminals COULD BE WEARING armor. Police officers are a lot more likely to be wearing armor, Jennifer Granholm points out, but no matter, you should be able to defend yourself with these bullets in the event that an armor-wearing criminal forces you to stand your ground.
Jennifer Granholm Just Not Used To All The Stupid Things Rick Santorum Says

yes but otherwise he would have to get a real job and.. you know...work.
But the <a href="http:\/\/www.cheesemonthclub.com\/" target="_blank">Cheese of the Month</a> catalog had it coming.
