But THIS is the best decision ever!: Starting a war based on lies in Iraq so that an adequate number of troops could be sent to Afghanistan, and thus causing the deaths of countless soldiers and civilians in both countries for years after it would have been over in Afghanistan, had that war been conducted properly.

JMP: His other argument (equally preposterous) is that KSM might insist on representing himself, and then he’ll be able to see all the top secret documents being used to prosecute him and he’ll be able to pass this intelligence on to other terrorists. Because, of course, he’ll be staying at the Ritz during his trial, and will be given a laptop and wi-fi access.
And since no court has ever had to deal with top secret information being subject to discovery before, they’ll have no way to deal with it other than McCarthy’s imagined scenario, which I think he cribbed from a Batman comic book.
