STILL BETTER THAN DENBY'S

  • JIM DEMINT IS THE REAL MISS SOUTH CAROLINA: South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint has written a new book about Hitler/Obama and the Iran and, uh, the South American countries and like such as: “Part of what we’re trying to do in ‘Saving Freedom’ is just show that where we are, we’re about where Germany was before World War II where they became a social democracy. You still had votes but the votes were just power grabs like you see in Iran, and other places in South America, like Chavez is running down in Venezuela.” Hmm, we’ll wait for this one to come out on DVD. Me and Jimmy DeMint (Bobby McGee)

Just staying in Wash DC, waitin’ fer a train
When I’s feeling nearly faded as my skin
Jimmy dumbed some history down, just before it rained
    Quoted someting ’bout Nazi Germany
I pulled my violin out of my dirty Klansman hood
I’s playing soft while Jimmy cried the blues, n-yeah
Stunned jaws dropped ping time I’s, holding Bobby’s hand in mine
He sang every whine ’bout Obama

DeMint’s just another word for being full of shit
Nothing, I mean nothing honey if he ain’t dumb, no no
Yeah being dense was easy Lord when whitey ran the South
You know being ignorant was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Jimmy DeMint.

  18. Crankenstank says at 2:17 pm, July 9th, 2009

Oh, sure, Nazi Germany 1933, after a mere 14 Weimar years of very tenuous “democracy” supported in part by the remnants of the German army structure after World War I, which violently suppressed socialism and communism even before the Nazis came to power, following Imperial rule, following centuries of balkanized aristocratic dynastic rule — JUST LIKE present-day America with its 222 years of Constitutional Democracy, 233 years of independent self-rule, and nearly 400-year-old tradition of democratic self-organization. The parallels are amazing.

  39. Extemporanus says at 2:32 pm, July 9th, 2009

Do we really need two Carolinas?

Having back-up states (see also: Virginias, Dakotas) made sense during our country’s formation, when there were worries that we might lose or break the other one. But this is the 21st century, and we are in the middle of a severe economic crisis. Surplus states like South Carolina are wasteful, and their politicians should be composted or turned into biofuel or something.

  40. I’d like to thank Jim DeMint for that authentic frontier gibberish. Not only was it authentic frontier gibberish, but it expressed a courage that is little seen in this day and age.

  42. InsidiousTuna says at 2:36 pm, July 9th, 2009

  43. bitchincamaro says at 2:38 pm, July 9th, 2009

Yeah, that’s what’s going on right now, jackass. We were tired of the government being a sleeping night watchman while you and your friends looted the warehouse. Now we’re trying to get government to do its job, and that’s got you frightened. And rightly so.

  51. lizard scum says at 2:43 pm, July 9th, 2009

Well, this little anti-American shit. I can tell by the clarity that this is an actual passage from Saving Fagdom. Let’s see, Obama is a fascist because…”the votes are just power grabs”? WTF, is DeMint trying to tell us that the Democrats and his own party rig every election? Oh, right, the voters are the ones grabbing power…but government hero DeMint is busy “saving freedom”! Get cancer.

In other words: if Demint doesn’t like the results, it isn’t democracy.

And South Dakota is an overwhelmingly beige, unpaved parking lot for Wall Drug, the Corn Palace, and Mount Rushmore—all three of which are basically just bumper sticker and fannypack patch dispensories for Griswoldian families of fatties who learn about American history one postcard at a time.

Kirkland is probably more Republican than the rest of Seattle, but still, it’s populated mainly by Microsofties and other educated folks whose knuckles don’t drag and who cook their meat. I stammered a few zingers like, “That’s terrible,” and tongue-clucked, but really, my brain froze in the presence of such profound asshattery. Even my l’esprit d’escalier has drawn a blank. 78. Maxfretless says at 5:33 pm, July 9th, 2009

South Carolina was also the home state of John Calhoun, who devoted his considerable intellect to defending slavery as a “positive good” and concocting legal arguments for secession. (In Calhoun’s defense, he did use complete sentences and chose words that actually corresponded to an observable reality.) DeMint is just continuing the grand South Carolina tradition: get elected to federal office and then spend all your time complaining about having to be part of the federal union. There are perils to this position, however. When Sherman’s troops entered South Carolina they put extra effort into trashing the place, regarding it as “the cradle of secession.” I’m just saying; its an idea.

  79. Texmandie says at 5:56 pm, July 9th, 2009

The Social Democrats were pretty much the only “mainstream” party that stood up against the Nazis - the conservatives thought they could use the Nazis to get rid of the Communists, and the centrists thought that it would blow over and that they should just go along to get along. NSDAP stood for National Socialist German Worker’s Party - the “D” stood for “Deutsche,” not “Demokratische,” a priority that was made abundantly clear over the next 12 years. The Nazis were somewhat socialistic, but Germany’s wealthy industrialists were generally ok with them (shamefully ok with them in many cases).

There’s a memorial in front of the rebuilt Reichstag (which houses the Bundestag) that has the names of primarily SPD (Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands - Social Democratic Party of Germany) and KPD (Communist Party of Germany) politicians who died because of their opposition to the Nazis.

No matter how silly the modern SPD gets, I’ll always admire what some of their leaders tried to do in the 30’s. Shame on DeMint to slander them by lumping them in with the Nazis!

I don’t know what you people are talking about. Just look at the experts that reviewed this book.

Why We Whisper by Senator DeMint and Dr. Woodard is a hard-hitting, even disturbing, chronicle of the current state of our nation. It is a must read for anyone who has the courage to know the truth. — Frank S. Page, President, Southern Baptist Convention

As one whose career is rooted in the 1st Amendment, I know how government imposition can strip Americans of our precious freedom of speech. Big government liberalism and a decline in our culture must be stopped. For ammunition in the fight ahead, read Why We Whisper. — Rush Limbaugh

In this important and timely book, DeMint and Woodard connect much of our cultural decline with attacks on free speech. The good news is they propose many sound solutions. — William J. Bennett, Fellow, The Claremont Institute

Senator Jim DeMint and J. David Woodard boldly challenge the politically correct tendency to restrict speech just where and when we need it most. Why We Whisper is a clarion call to exercise our First Freedoms in a time of moral confusion. — Tony Perkins, President, Family Research Council

Anybody remember the good old book burning party days. I say we use this one to start the fire!
