Remember when Barack Obama made 9/11 happen again with one of his “backup” Air Force Ones, just so a few schmucks could get tourist snapshots of such famous New York sights as the Muslim president crashing into the Statue of Liberty? Well no one even told Michael Bloomberg, the mayoral sprite of New York City, and he is furious! “Furious!” Barack Obama is the worst president in American history. [Clusterstock]

“Why, that meshuggah schvartze…!”

V572625694 April 27, 2009 at 3:10 pm

“mayoral sprite” — win! He can barely see over the podium.

problemwithcaring April 27, 2009 at 3:12 pm

Someone wants to use the Trade Centers and 9/11 as a photo-op?? How dare he – knowing full well that the GOP secured the copyrights to all such imagery in ’03…

Czn939 April 27, 2009 at 3:13 pm

G, Mr. B. Y so srs?

Hooray For Anything April 27, 2009 at 3:13 pm

Obviously, Bloomberg would have been able to know about it if the government didn’t tie his hands and make it illegal for him to waterboard somebody.

proudgrampa April 27, 2009 at 3:14 pm

Oh, Mayor, put a sock in it. The Federal Government OWNS THE AIRSPACE – not you!

x111e7thst April 27, 2009 at 3:16 pm

What is it w/ NYC mayors. By the time they get to (in this case approach) their third term they just can’t suck enough.

SayItWithWookies April 27, 2009 at 3:19 pm

No one could have anticipated that Air Force One would be used as a photo op.

bitchincamaro April 27, 2009 at 3:19 pm

Fuck it. As long as Mr. Blifil was briefed on it, I’m good with it.

chascates April 27, 2009 at 3:20 pm

Waiting on condemnation from Eternal Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Czn939 April 27, 2009 at 3:20 pm

And for Haruhi’s sake, Wonkette. Take away that “Triple Cross” ad!
Why do you insist on dashing my hopes!?

thebaker April 27, 2009 at 3:21 pm

golfing, buzzing NYC….stop distracting us, Mr President. There’s a goldarn pandemic goin’on. we’re trying to panic and you’re makin’ us laff.

ManchuCandidate April 27, 2009 at 3:22 pm

Maverick Obama: This is Ghost Rider requesting a fly-by.
Bloomberg: Negative. The pattern is full.
Goose Biden: No, Mav. This is not a good idea.
Maverick Obama: Sorry, but it’s time to buzz the Statue of Liberty.

Air Force One does a low level high speed pass that spill’s Bloomberg’s coffee onto Bloomberg’s shirt.

Bloomberg: Goddamn son of a bitch!

Min April 27, 2009 at 3:24 pm

You want some cheese to go with that whine, Mr. Mayor?

randomsausage April 27, 2009 at 3:24 pm

If they’d landed it in the Hudson, Bloomberg would have been ok with it though.

WagTehGod April 27, 2009 at 3:25 pm

jagorev April 27, 2009 at 3:26 pm

[re=300765]chascates[/re]: Mayor for Life Ed Koch is said to be very disappointed about this whole affair.

Advocatus_Diaboli April 27, 2009 at 3:31 pm

It totally defies imagination why anyone would want to use NYC as a photo op background.

PerhapsSo April 27, 2009 at 3:31 pm

The ad on this site wants me to order my STD panel today. It checks against six major STDs, and I can get the results in 3-5 days. Thanks for caring about my sexual health, Wonkette!

Unless…

Wait, Jim, are you trying to tell me something? But you said you were clean!!!

bitchincamaro April 27, 2009 at 3:34 pm

[re=300784]PerhapsSo[/re]: “But you said you were clean!!!” He meant he wasn’t “holding”.

Custerwolf April 27, 2009 at 3:35 pm

[re=300748]V572625694[/re]: Actually, the podium is where this asshole stands while he’s lecterin the president.

Advocatus_Diaboli April 27, 2009 at 3:37 pm

So except for that daily briefing titled “BHO determined to have fly-by photo op in NYC”, Mayor Bloomberg was not apprised of the situation.

The mayor said the Police Department and someone in his administration – he did not say who – received an e-mail from the Federal Aviation Administration late on Thursday, informing them that there would be “a fly-by for a photo-op, as they described it.”

Custerwolf April 27, 2009 at 3:37 pm

[re=300784]PerhapsSo[/re]: I have an easier method. Go out and fuck say about 50 guys (or gals) and see if in about 2-3 weeks (or whatever the incubation period) you get an angry phone call from any of them.

Lionel Hutz Esq. April 27, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Why does Mayor Bloomberg hate the military?

[re=300763]SayItWithWookies[/re]: Not true. In fact, Mayor Bloomberg had a memo last month titled “Department of Defense Determined to Use Air Force One for Publicity Photos in New York City.” Who thought of the children!?!

Custerwolf April 27, 2009 at 3:39 pm

[re=300772]Min[/re]: Why is Rudy in the neighborhood?

Lazy Media April 27, 2009 at 3:39 pm

What the hell? Bloomberg didn’t scramble the NYC fighter planes? America is STILL defenseless against the terrorisms.

PerhapsSo April 27, 2009 at 3:42 pm

[re=300797]Custerwolf[/re]: Well, it is Monday. That was my plan for tonight anyway.

PerhapsSo April 27, 2009 at 3:44 pm

[re=300788]bitchincamaro[/re]: Well, now the ad has changed to learning my credit score. At least checking that won’t require antibiotics.

mrpuma2u April 27, 2009 at 3:46 pm

[re=300769]ManchuCandidate[/re]: Danger zone win!!!

Hooray For Anything April 27, 2009 at 3:59 pm

Never forget 4/27

Custerwolf April 27, 2009 at 4:02 pm

“Why the Defense Department wanted to do a photo op right around the site of the World Trade Center catastrophe defies imagination.”

Wow. Imagination is not your strong point is it Mr.Mayor?

mcc April 27, 2009 at 4:25 pm

“So except for that daily briefing titled “BHO determined to have fly-by photo op in NYC”, Mayor Bloomberg was not apprised of the situation.”

No one could have predicted that the White House would choose to hold a photo op near the statue of liberty.

zenferret April 27, 2009 at 5:09 pm

[re=300818]PerhapsSo[/re]: Checking my credit score would.

prototype April 27, 2009 at 5:40 pm

I’ll nevah forget 4/27

Godot April 27, 2009 at 5:49 pm

Good. Anything that pisses off that tool is fine by me.

devilboy April 27, 2009 at 5:57 pm

New Yorkers are so such America hating communist crybabies!

Did any of them see the planes and say “Oh,boy! Another American hero is going to make some kind of miracle landing in the Hudson again!!!!”

Nooooooooooooo!

Where is their faith in the greatness of America? Where is their patriotism?!

If there’s another 9/11 — or, you know, 4/29 or 8/17 etc or something — it will be totally be the fault of the defeatist New Yorkers.

sarcasticusername April 27, 2009 at 6:01 pm

it’s good to see that the newly re-minted republican mayor, is wasting no time getting on board with the stupid that defines his party.

Servo April 27, 2009 at 6:11 pm

Would they prefer that Obama use his Magic Carpets?

Crank Tango April 27, 2009 at 6:12 pm

Mayor Bloomberger was more than happy to appear with Subway Hero Dennis Duffy, so maybe a Hudson landing would have been appropriate. or if barry had saved someone by pulling them between the rails as a car passed over their heads. also.

Mr Blifil April 27, 2009 at 6:44 pm

Notice he got snippy by implicating Defense Department, and not Noobama. Somebody gave little Mikee a talking to and a time out before he went before the cameras. Now all he has to worry about are the Rapturist Air Force brass, they don’t cotton too well to billionaire New York Jews.

Dean Booth April 27, 2009 at 7:31 pm

Next week: An unannounced SWAT training exercise at Columbine!

hobospacejunkie April 27, 2009 at 9:33 pm

Secretary of Shoes Condoleeza Rice was pressed repeatedly about an email from the FAA presented to Mayor Bloomberg the Thursday before the photo op, a document that referred to Air Force One, photography and the Statue of Liberty.

“Had we thought that there was a photo op coming in New York, we would have moved heaven and earth to try and stop it,” Rice told the independent commission investigating the photo op.

“And I know that there was no single thing that might have prevented that photo op.”

Rice insisted the email did not give any advance warning of what was to happen.

“It did not warn of photo ops inside the United States,” Rice said. “It was historical information based on old reporting.”

Bruno April 27, 2009 at 10:21 pm

The only image I need, ever, is the airbrushed crying eagle. Ideally with a little picture of the twin towers in the tear.

Oh, and I guess Bloomberg is now officially a member of the Republican party again. Good for him & Michael Steele.

Bruno April 27, 2009 at 10:27 pm

Once again, this serves as a wake up call about our need for an enhanced F-22 program. If we had the F-22s, NY would have a defense against airplanes and foreigns who like to fly in them to mingle with the locals. Why has Barak Hussein Nobama canceled Jesus’s F-22 program, costing America jobs and putting us at risk?
