THIS IS ALL ANYBODY USED TO CARE ABOUT: “An imprisoned Salvadoran immigrant has been charged with the 2001 murder of a former U.S. government intern, a case that helped end a California congressman’s career, police and prosecutors said on Tuesday.” [Washington Post]

She was cute, even in those horrible mom-jeans. I haz a sad.
Ah yes, those halcyon pre-9/11 days, when you could still take a pocket knife on the plane. Good times, good times.
Missing white girls, murdered interns, Vince Foster dead in the park. Good times, good times
My favorite aspect of this story is how Gary Condit claims that he is a happlity-married family man and paragon of virtue and that the cops destroyed his life. This is the guy who had three (3) girlfriends, not including Chandra, all of whom came forward after she was murdered, and it was calculated that there was overlap. Plus, he bought the same bracelet for multiple girlfriends. (bulk discount?)
Well, since it’s an illegal immigrant, Michelle Malkin should be breathing flames any second now.
I can’t believe Rick A. Hyatt hasn’t updated yet!

It’s easier to catch them when they’re already in jail.
He’s brown! Where’s Lou Dobbs?
Ah yes, hearsay witnesses who eight years later have heard him say self-implicating statements about the event. Verrrrrrry compelling evidence there, prosecutors. I’ll bet dollars to donuts that the way the witness describes how Guandique described the crime doesn’t actual correspond with the physical evidence.
I also love the statement, “Polygraph results can be skewed if there is a translation problem, experts say.” How about, polygraph results can be skewed because they’re junk science no more reliable than devining rods or palm reading.
This is a horrible crime, of course, but the evidence against Guandique is some of the shittiest there is.
Good Gawd, Nancy Grace is a loutish, loud-mouthed, obnoxious, grave-robbing vulture. Kinda reminds me of Mom…
Doglessliberal: uh, happily. Not sure what happlity means.
I remember thinking on Sept 12 that Gary Condit must be happy that the news had something else to cover.
Do I get the first “where’s the justice for Lori Klausutis” comment? Cool. I mean, I’m pretty sure it’s mandatory, now that we’re the gold standard for libtard blogs.
Doglessliberal: Happlity and Clommes dress up in dog costumes, punch each other, and solve murder mysteries.
you cannot be serious: I remember thinking the same thing: Sept. 12, 2001 Gary Condit is the happiest man in the world. Hell, all it took was the worst terrorist act in the US that killed thousands of people to move the bright shiny ball off of a stupid, self-important, adulterous congressman.
Ah, yes. I remember when Chandra Levy’s death was on the news all the time. Good times, good times….
Come here a minute: snort. Win.
Gary Condit claims that he is a happlity-married family man and paragon of virtue and that the cops destroyed his life. This is the guy who had three (3) girlfriends
Many happy marriages are open marriages. I do not know whether or not this was the case with the Condits’ marriage, and neither do you.

PomPom:
Yeah, also. Isn’t this how they caught that guy that killed Jon Benet? Also…

IceCreamEmpress: Correct, no one except Mr. and Mrs. Condit know whether their marriage was happy. However, Mr. Condit was pretty outspoken when it came to other people’s dalliances. Mrs. Condit’s marital satisfaction becomes irrelevant when her douche husband is out pillorying lying adulterers. Hope this Helps.
Oh man. My mom was friends with Chandra Levy’s mom growing up. So when this story broke, my mom just became OBSESSED with it–constantly following it, e-mailing me updates, becoming overly concerned for my safety. She then started to follow every missing white woman story with a ferosity I didn’t believe, and still can’t get over. Maybe getting some closure on this case will chill her out some.
Anyway–what makes me sad is that when this story was huge, Chandra was older than I was, and looked older than I was in that famous photo of her. But now I’m the older one, and when I saw that picture of her with the article, I was startled at how young she looked.
It’s too soon, Ken…too soon.
Oh wait, when was this again? 2001? F-that! Her hair will haunt me for the rest of my days, as will Condit’s stretched, cracking face when he “smiled”
I thought it was “some Puerto Rican guy”?
Naked Bunny with a Whip: This was also the Summer of the Shark in Florida. The evening of Sept 10 I was watching some cable news and they were saying that the only reason Chandra and the sharks were getting so much coverage was because there was nothing else going on. Not even 12 hours later I was thinking “damn those idiots for opening their mouths and spoiling the good times”
Mrs. Condit’s marital satisfaction becomes irrelevant when her douche husband is out pillorying lying adulterers.
No, because Condit was not necessarily a lying adulterer himself (unless you read some coverage I missed that gave that information).
I am no fan of Condit’s, but I hate it when everyone assumes that all marriages include monogamy agreeements.
IceCreamEmpress: ah, gee, you are right, I should have known that Mr.-Co-Sponsor-of-a-Bill-Calling-for-Display-of-the-Ten-Commandments-in-Public-Buildings would have been in a happy, polyamorous relationship. My bad.
IceCreamEmpress: It’s not like it’s some outlandish assumption; most (read: almost all) marriages are monogamous. A few are not, but it’s silly to pretend open marriages are common.
IceCreamEmpress: Well, there was the famous quote of him imploring Bill Clinton to “come clean” about that man’s relationship with that woman, Miss Lewisnky. Which isn’t a big deal until one recalls that Condit lied to the police two different times about the nature of his relationship with Ms. Levy. It may be that the commercial media had no right to exploit Mr. Condit’s swinging marriage to sell adverts, and I will leave it to you to decide if an elected Congressman who lies to the police to ward off embarrassment is worthy of your scorn.
ServiceJervixJuice: Nancy Grace is the ugliest man on teevee, y’all.
IceCreamEmpress: the facts that he lied repeatedly about the nature of his relationship with Chadra to the police and FBi, that he told at least one other woman (the flight attendant) he was seeing not to talk about it to the FBU, and that he did these things, in his own words, to “spare his wife” learning this, give us a pretty good picture of Gary.
I feel a tad sorry for the loss of his political career, but he wouldn’t have been a suspect/assumed guilty had he not been so UNforthcoming, no matter how understandable, about his relationship with Ms. Levy. That being said, I totally assumed he was guilty and I feel a little weird about that. Not apologize-to-Scott-Peterson-weird or anything, but a little weeny bit remorseful. He wasn’t a bad politician.
Doglessliberal: hah, FBI! FBU? Bad typing day for Dogless.
IceCreamEmpress: Must be that “forsaking all others” thing that everybody’s heard on the teevee, whether or not those actual words are spoken at every ceremoney.
And I’m pretty sure that the chances of a Congressperson having an open marriage by mutual agreement is about zilch. The voters, they’re so closed minded. Plus, our beloved Barry notwithstanding, most politicians are people that other people don’t want to visualize having sex with. Ewwww.
Geraldo Condito was sitting in the joint when he confessed? Weird. I thought he’d just been laying low since Congress gave him the boot.
King of Pants: Which is very ironic considering Malkin’s stance on “anchor babies”. I wonder if anyone ever pointed out to her that she does not think she should have had citizenship prior to marrying an American.
If she had only gone to temple that day instead, also.
IceCreamEmpress: …Somebody’s feeling a little guilty about banging the secretary last night…
Also, is Rock Creek Park, like the most deadly place on the planet? How come all of the District’s highest profile murders happen in some park with a creek and some rocks?
Gopherit: For Lou, this is Christmas and Easter and the 4th of July all rolled up into one. His ultimate wet dream. He may actually pass out from the excitement
CollegeStudent: Rocks make good weapons, and so do creeks. Just ask Susan Smith.

Or, as its more commonly known, the Nancy Grace Gravy Train
Was he tortured? Somehow, I’m not buying this one. I think Condit did it.
And Joe Scarborough, too.
In the interest of fairness, I also think that Bobby killed Marilyn. and LBJ had JFK killed. and Wellstone was murdered. and 9/11 was an inside job.
I don’t see any reason to even doubt that people at that level of power would murder, even mass murder. They vote to bring death on thousands, even millions, without batting an eyelash. A mouthy intern ain’t no big deal.
If she was jewish, what’s up with her being named after a Hindoo deity? This is where multiculturalism leads, folks!
Wow. Since Obama is presidents, I’m gonna assume he’s responsible for this, and ask if he can do Jean Binet next?
has anyone explored the fact that cheney took the darthmobile through the rcp on his daily commutes? at least before he had the secret subway with stops at the naval observatory, the white house, the old exec office bldg., and hell–which i’m pretty sure wasn’t completed until 03.
The relief Condit felt when the planes hit on 9/11.
Why wasn’t he investigated for 9/11 instead?
Fine, several of you obviously followed this story more closely than I did. If Condit claimed to be in a monogamous marriage, I agree with you all that it was certainly hypocritical of him to criticize Clinton for having sex outside his marriage.
Yeah this was the shizzizzle. Then something happened, i forget what it was.
So who is Condit sleeping with these days?
jagorev: However, thanks to President Bush and water boarding, not a single other white women or girl was murdered in the past eight years.
She died at the right time: Her looks would only have done downhill from the smoking hotness that attracted motorcycle-riding, leather-vest-wearing, Congressional Studmuffin Gary Condit.
One has to know when to die. If Hendricks was still alive, he’d be doing “Purple Haze” as a lounge act in one of the off-the-main floor bars in Vegas.
With Mama Cass Eliot, and Jim Morrison, as backup.
Oh yea??? Wait ’til Nancy Grace presents evidence that Condit allegedly knew and had dealings with that Salvadorean immigrant.
And by presents evidence, I mean makes wild and unsubstantiated accusations on national TV.
Gallowglass: Ugh, Nancy wishes you guys would stop omitting that whole Duke lacrosse rapists-thingy. Where are the “kudos” for convicting someone in the court of public opinion on a Black woman’s behalf?
NAACP image awards - are you listening??
There seems to be a double standard with these dead mistresses. Why does Teddy get to keep his seat for 40 years after killing Mary Jo, but Gary loses his seat when someone else kills Chandra?
Alpha O. Mega: Alpha….everywhere I look I see double standards. Duck! There goes one now!
Guess Gary Condit wasn’t the murderous creep everyone thought. Oops.
http://democralypsenow.blogspot.com/
Doglessliberal: happy+uppity?
Condit may not have done it, but he sure acted shady enough. Karma IS a bitch.
I’m giving up Nancy Grace for Lent
I’m giving up Nancy Grace for torturing and throwing in a volcano to appease the Angry Jindal Gods who hate volcano research.
wickedlittledoll: They never actually proved that he was guilty of murder, but I still think he’s a murderous little creep, in the same way that they haven’t proved Blago guilty of corruption, Rush Limbaugh of ass-fucking little boys, or Karl Rove of being sleazy weasel numero uno.
I give these people the presumption of guilt.
IceCreamEmpress: Fine, several of you obviously
followed this story more closely than I didknow how to fact check before talking out of your ass. Fixed that for you.
