I think it’s gonna be Hillz. Biden’s supposedly gathering his relatives, reports are that his son flew in from Maine. But I think Hopey’s gonna go Hilltard on us.
If Obama doesn’t pick Hillary, then who are the conservatives going to have to scare everyone with? They’d better start talking up Hillamania while they still can. After tomorrow, they won’t be able to threaten America with the prospect of a woman whose husband cheated on her becoming president anymore.
ForTheTurnstiles: If they’ve got the Antichrist in their pocket, then that’s it: I’m voting for Obama. That kind of influence doesn’t come easy. Of course, McCain has Exxon, so that about puts the two of them even.
Has anyone ever voted for a ticket based on the strength of the VP? I mean, can you imagine some Joe Sixpack somewhere in America saying “Yeah, I fucking hate Obama and Democrats and all, but man, that Reed, how could I resist!”
I mean, at the end of the day the running mate selection process only has a tangible impact on the second line of bumper stickers. America has collectively held its breath for an entire week for the political equivalent of the coolest girl in the eighth grade announcing her new BFF.
Larry McAwful: According to these people, Obama really IS the antichrist. He’s also probably a Muslim. No one’s sure which is worse on the scale of Fundo love-to-hate-’em.
mattbolt: It’s an important decision, so you can see how a candidate actually makes decisions (sort of). GW Bush: Fuck it, I’ll just pick the guy who is telling me which guy to pick. Etc.
mattbolt: feh, take that even handed analysis back to civilized comment sections at the “Times” and “Post”. the only reason wonketterrorists care (and post on friday nights) is we’re hopetarded. we want to be the first with hope/???? bumperstickers and tatoos off hope/????? on our naughty bits!!!!
mattbolt: I used to work with a guy who voted for Bush in 2000. He didn’t care much for Bush, but his reason was that he really liked Cheney, and that since getting elected in a year ending with zero pretty much guarantees assassination, it wouldn’t be long for President Cheney to get inaugurated. I swear I am not making this up.
I realize this guy’s opinion is not average. He is in fact the only person I’ve ever known who’s admitted that a running mate influenced his decision. As much as I loathe Bush, I have to say I’m not a fan of my old coworker’s line of reasoning, but there it is.
mattbolt: Unfortunately when the presumptive nominee has few accomplishments and has been campaigning for a little over 50% of the time when in elective office, the VP choice may be all that matters in changing someone’s mind. This is the world we live in. God I wish we had a parliament. We would not have to deal with all this silly superdelegate stuff.
If Hillary gets it, that will make it - let’s see now - 32 years since there was an election without a Bush or a Clinton on the ticket with no end in sight. That fact alone makes me a little queasy every time.
You know, about a week ago I realized how incredible it would be for him to pick Hillary after all of this. If he had picked her in June, or even suggested that it was possible no one would have cared. She’d totally overshadow him, and it would probably make him seem weak.
But by waiting till the last possible day, avoiding any suggestion that he was interested in picking her, floating other names, etc., he’s going to completely own the news cycle leading into the convention. He’ll also seem strong, thoughtful, willing to take a strategic position etc. rather tan just seeming kinda weak.
Political Addict: Thanks for the endorsement. However, since I’m so old that not only do I not know how many houses I own, I often can’t find my way home, I am compelled to decline any nomination.
TJBeck: I was thinking the same thing. If he waits until Monday (at the convention) to announce, Hillary is the most obvious target. If you’re gonna give hiltards attention, give em attention. Even though they’re a bunch of batshit cat ladies.
…so there is only one more piece left on the chess board.
Fucking Hillary.
It’s almost 10 pm. On a Friday. If I see one more post on Wonkette tonight it better be obviously written while intoxicated!
Why is Obama such a goddamn cocktease? Why? WHY??!!
haha, jim webb is pissssssed!
mattbolt: Reed is fucking Hillary?! How could the search committee not catch that?
SkimLatteModerate: Who said this one wasn’t written while intoxicated?
I think it’s gonna be Hillz. Biden’s supposedly gathering his relatives, reports are that his son flew in from Maine. But I think Hopey’s gonna go Hilltard on us.
SayItWithWookies: I think I might’ve read it in the National Enquirer like a year ago, but hey, when have they ever been right abo-….. oh, right.
SkimLatteModerate: Ken Layne: …Ummmmmmm, who doesn’t post threads/comments on a weekend shit-faced anyways?!
If Obama doesn’t pick Hillary, then who are the conservatives going to have to scare everyone with? They’d better start talking up Hillamania while they still can. After tomorrow, they won’t be able to threaten America with the prospect of a woman whose husband cheated on her becoming president anymore.
SuperRounder: No. Wrong. Impossible. Fuck. No further comment. Goddamn!
Larry McAwful: Now they got the Antichrist. Just ask Victoria Jackson of “love toilet” fame.
She’s the Matisyahu of the Fundo set.
I don’t think Jim Webb is pissed. He ruled himself out a couple of months ago.
You guys are barking up the wrong tree. It’s Obama/Obama ’08. That’s Barack and Michelle. Kind of like Bush/Cheney only without the clueless/evil.
AngryBlakGuy: I feel like the uncomfortably sober one at the party now.
ForTheTurnstiles: If they’ve got the Antichrist in their pocket, then that’s it: I’m voting for Obama. That kind of influence doesn’t come easy. Of course, McCain has Exxon, so that about puts the two of them even.
SkimLatteModerate: …PEER PRESSURE! PEER PRESSURE! PEER PRESSURE! PEER PRESSURE!
Has anyone ever voted for a ticket based on the strength of the VP? I mean, can you imagine some Joe Sixpack somewhere in America saying “Yeah, I fucking hate Obama and Democrats and all, but man, that Reed, how could I resist!”

I think it’s Abe Vigoda. (A) He’s a military veteran; (b) He’s Jewish, which helps with the pro-Israel crowd; and (C) He’s alive.
Larry McAwful: According to these people, Obama really IS the antichrist. He’s also probably a Muslim. No one’s sure which is worse on the scale of Fundo love-to-hate-’em.

I give up. No one can live up to this. So, moving on, when does the Wonkette team launch the assault on the Pepsi Palace? Will anyone be left at HQ?
mattbolt: feh, take that even handed analysis back to civilized comment sections at the “Times” and “Post”. the only reason wonketterrorists care (and post on friday nights) is we’re hopetarded. we want to be the first with hope/???? bumperstickers and tatoos off hope/????? on our naughty bits!!!!

1234 Not it!
Rachel Maddow!
“Barack Jack” sounds like something the dealer would say in a game of 21 at a Hong Kong casino. HEY-YOHHHHHHHH!
Shit, why didn’t I short Bayh when he was at 30. Shit. Fucking Congress.
See Obama/Reed. Reed/Obama/Reed!

Jack Reed? Christ, he looks like Count Chocula. http://speakout.com/VoteMatch/people/Jack_Reed.jpg
Love them nasty feral eyes. Willard. Oh, Willllllard.
Next time Michelle goes on the View, I hope the ladies ask her if Barry made her go thru this when he picked her.
Sezme - Consider the fact that the first Presidential ballot Hopey could have cast was in 1980. Yep, there was a Bush on that one.
Good thing we already know McCain’s choice.

Look at this professionally-made bumper sticker I done found -

mattbolt: I think Cheney had more influence on invading Iraq than Bush. So there’s that, for starters.

That said, DON’T DO IT, BARRY!
Oh!Donna Reed!
