What Makes Bush’s Motor Run?

by Greg Wasserstorm

A couple weeks ago, Elisabeth Bumiller broke the news of President Bush’s Sunday afternoon massages. Today, she investigates the Presidential iPod. Biggest surprise: the Knack’s “My Sharona” made the presidential playlist, but not because Dubya has a thing for jailbait. (Sample lyric: “Always get it up for the touch of the younger kind, my my my woooh!”) As Mark McKinnon, the president’s chief downloading consultant explains, “No one should psychoanalyze the song selection. It’s music to get over the next hill.” Maybe so. But if that’s the case, why isn’t this heart-rousing anthem on the president’s playlist?
