The Clark County, Utah Republican Party held its convention Saturday, and the Mormons are so secretive that it's taking this important news several days to make its way around the Internet. "Standing in" for John McCain was Mark Shurtleff, the attorney general of Utah. Even that title sounds horribly racist and sexist and Mormon. So what horribly racist and sexist and Mormon things did he say?
OK, so vaguely sexist, horribly racist, and 100% Mormon would be a more accurate description:
Shurtleff repeatedly ridiculed the opposition for their personal characteristics. "Barack or Hillary — my apologies to the Baracks or Hillarys in the audience, but even their names sound liberal," he said.
Referring to a Clinton ad that asks who is best suited to rise to a late-night crisis, Shurtleff said, "When Hillary gets the call at 3 a.m., the call is, 'Do you know where your husband is?'" And he pointedly referred to "Obama's fathers — one was African, one was Indonesian."
No no no Shurtleff, you're missing the whole Thing about Obama: Both of those Islamic Muslim terrorist fathers abandoned him, to the Melting Pot.

Shurtleff certainly isn't a liberal sounding name. It's a grand name with lots of history, from back in the day when they changed the fonts on the movable-type machine so "s"s look like they do today, and back when "shirt" was still spelled with a "u".

But county convention speaker Shurtleff is the AG of the Polygamy State. While prostitution and race mixing are frowned upon in Utah, acquiring girl brides isn't.

As a native of Utah, I can testify that they are always five years behind the times. So in their minds it's still 2003 and "liberal" jokes haven't fallen flat in the face of neverending failed war and economic collapse.

@nelking: You're right. It was the Utah AG speaking at the Clark County (Read: Vegas) Republican Convention. Despite, or because of, all the booze, hos and gambling, Vegas actually has a large Mormon population. In fact, it was the Mo-tards that propelled Mitt over Ron and the Paultards in the NV Caucus. I think that, after the Mormons, the Paultards might be the largest cult in Nevada.

Overstock.com is under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission and Patrick Byrne is the admitted target of the SEC probe.

A legitimate question can be raised as to whether the Chief Legal Officer of the state of Utah by publicly taking the side of Overstock.com after taking their campaign contributions has become a facilitator of the company and has involved himself in the commission of a securities fraud."
