Earlier this week, we squealed in delight at the news that Michelle Obama is going to be co-hosting The View on December 5th. But, naturally, there’s got to be someone bringing us down.

The Writer’s Guild of America East told The Politico that, because the show’s writers (the show has writers?) are on strike, they “hope” Michelle won’t appear! Naturally, union-lover John Edwards and his wife have canceled their post-Thanksgiving appearance on the show in honor of the strike.

No word yet from Obama’s camp on Edwards’ call for all candidates to boycott talk show appearances, which, we’re sure, has nothing whatsoever to do with the paucity of outstanding invitations he has to do so.
