Democrats Lose Again

by Alex Pareene  10:51 am June 26, 2007

The 46th Annual Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game was last night at RFK. The Democrats, as always, lost.

Defense, or lack thereof, was the story last night as nine Democratic errors paved the way for a 5-2 Republican victory in the 46th Annual Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game at RFK Stadium. The GOP now leads the current best-of-five series 2-0.

As Democrats never, ever win the baseball game, we’re sure they’d love it if another publication stepped up to the plate (pun, sadly, intended) and proposed a new yearly contest. Like:

* The Hill’s Annual Congressional Shuffleboard Contest
* Congressional Beer Pong, Sponsored by the Washington Examiner
* The Washington Times Congressional Track and Field Day, Featuring Illegal Immigrant Shot-put, Border Fence Poll Vault, the Messianic Cross-tearing, and an old-timey picnic plus lynching.
* Brightest Young Things presents the First Annual Congressional Sparks Pong Tournament.

The Dems will surely have better chances of dominating these new competitions. So hop to it, DC media!
