The Washington Times reports that the brave patriots voluntarily patrolling the southern border armed only with folding chairs and the equivalent of gaydar for finding Mexicans aren’t so good at watching their own money, which has vanished like so many wetbacks in the desert night.

A growing number of Minuteman Civil Defense Corps leaders and volunteers are questioning the whereabouts of hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of dollars in donations collected in the past 15 months, challenging the organization’s leadership over financial accountability.

What does this have to do with recidivist political candidate and washed-out talk show host Alan Keyes? The Times says the Minutemen money is being “funneled through a Virginia-based charity headed by conservative Alan Keyes.” Who, it must be said, looks so mean in this picture it’s likely he killed a man once just for snoring.
